n our way to Bruce Canyon we've stopped for lunch west of the park at
a trail head. Also a great place to examine fluvial deposition in a
dry riverbed.

Blog Notes
Welcome to the blog for the University of Michigan 2010 Soft Rock Geology Field Trip to the Southwest US! We will post updates here as network-access permits; however, as is often the case, the most interesting geology is often located in remote areas with no Internet access. So our posts are likely to significantly lag our real-time activities.
Field trips are a critical and integral component of geoscience education. They provide students with unequaled opportunities for exploring and understanding geological principles first-hand, outside of the classroom. Field trips, however, are expensive endeavors. We rely on grants and donations to subsidize costs and ensure an affordable experience for all students.
This year's field trip is sponsored in part by funding from Shell.
If you would like to help support future field trips, please visit the University of Michigan, Department of Geological Sciences Giving Opportunities page for more information.
