Checkerboard Mesa, Zion NP
After breakfast and groceries in Springdale, we are now heading east
out of Zion. One of the treats one sees on this route is the classic
Checkerboard Mesa view point, which you may recognize yourself, as it
is often featured in geology textbooks. It is a classic example of
eolian dunes in the Navajo with exemplery jointing, which results in
it's namesake appearence. (Julia, Elaina, and Alex)
